Autumn 2024 Artist in Residence at the North Vancouver Recreation Centre
Erin will facilitate a workshop on flash fiction, alongside writer Dhana Musil. They’ll share the love of the craft; writing small pieces with maximum impact, discovering how constraints can help create an exquisite story. They will also host two North Shore Story Slam event, open to the public and great writerly community building. Photo above!

Erin and Dhana Musil are encouraging local writers to share their stories and even win a few prizes for their bravery. Sharing these nights has been a community highlight. Erin is on the far right below (dressed like a pirate––an eyepatch is fun) setting an example of come as you are, or who you feel like that day.
In March of 2022 Erin read “The Trade” for a collaboration between the North Shore Writers Association and The Federation of B.C. Writers. A regional spotlight on local writers:

The Whistler Writers Adventure Camp ran for three years. Erin got to participate in the talent night (once singing ‘We All live in the Capital I” a favourite from Sesame Street).
Here’s Erin reading from “Thin Crust” the 2016 winning fiction contest piece, chosen by Heather O’Neil and later published in The Walrus magazine.
“Thin Crust is a delightful parable about the end of the world. It is a story about the interconnectivity of people on the earth and the sweet and fragile nature of everything that happens on it. It is a tale of the apocalypse told in tiny, precise, and perfect moments.” – Heather O’Neil
