“Sand Penis” received second place in subTerrain magazine’s 2023 Lush Triumphant Awards. I was truly chuffed (not chafed)! 

“No One Tells You Outright Grandma is an Asshole” Winner, PRISM International’s 2023 Grouse Grind Lit Prize. The title speaks for itself. 2023 Prism Grouse Grind Lit Prize.

“The Trade” was a Fractured Lit finalist in 2021 and a CRAFT flash fiction  finalist in 2020, judged by Leesa Cross-Smith, later printed in Orca magazine.

“It Can be Done With Words” received an Honourable Mention in Pulp Literature’s 2020 Raven Short Story Contest, chosen by Mathew Hughes, award-winning Canadian science fiction author and judge. This piece was also longlisted in PRISM’s 2020 Jacob Zilber Prize.

“Pink Baby” was a finalist in the Screencraft 2019 Cinematic Short Story competition. A real honour to be chosen out of 1,200 entries!

“Visiting Hours are From 5 to 7” was longlisted for the 2019 Peter Hinchcliffe Short Story Award held by The New Quarterly magazine.

“The Chemistry of Unhappiness” placed second in EVENT magazine’s 2019 speculative fiction contest.

“Where Things Rise, Unannounced” Winner, EVENT magazine’s 2018 non-fiction contest, judged by Lori Ann Wilson. This foray into my own eco-anxiety was also longlisted for the 2018 CBC non-fiction contest.

“Camping with Narwhals” was shortlisted in the 2018 Pulp Literature Raven Short Story contest.

“Translating Darkness” was a Malahat Review Open Season Awards finalist in 2018, judged by Betsey Warland.

“Thin Crust” Winner, 2016 Whistler Adventure Writers Camp, later published in March 2017 of The Walrus magazine. Chosen by judge and award-winning writer/Giller nominee Heather O’Neill. Feb 2017 issue of The Walrus.
