Hi All,

I’ve been told that I need to hone my skills of self-promotion. This is true, I have a twitter account that gathers online dust, I rarely post on Facebook and then only because people have asked to see the blog there. I haven’t updated my webpage with newer accolades, and I should. But I write for the satisfaction of putting words down. It’s now a necessary thing in my life, I become agitated if I can’t get to it, like a relentless itch. SO despite the online silliness that most of you are used to from the blog, I do a bit of serious writing as well. I’ve decided to dedicate my time to pursuing all that the writing life has to offer: late nights, intermittent paycheques, rejection letters, and hopefully, the published book of my own. Here is a bit of good news that was a nice kick in the pants. I’ve been shortlisted for the Canadian Authors Association contest, seven of us made the cut, and three will actually win. I may or may not be one of those winners, but to make the cut is a huge accomplishment in and of itself.

So, cross your fingers for me, send some good vibes my way.

It’s a bit of a crap shoot, so I’m going to repeat “no whammies, no whammies” and see what happens.  (Does anyone else remember the game show Press Your Luck?) Anyway, I’m thrilled.

WHAMMIES

At least the roulette wheel is turning!
