Here it is folks, passing on the good news as I got it….

Congratulations again on being the top seven authors in the Canadian Authors Vancouver Short Story Contest.  I am pleased to announce our prize winners are: (drum roll please)

1st Prize & Publication:    Edythe Anstey Hanen, Bowen Island, BC  for Lonesome

2nd Prize & Publication:  Barb Howard, Calgary, for MVP

3rd Prize & Publication:   Erin MacNair, N. Vancouver, for Left Standing

(Hey! That’s me! Whooohoooo!!!)

Our judges were very impressed with the caliber of the stories submitted and had a difficult time choosing the winners. It is interesting to note that all three winners are members of the Canadian Authors Association whose motto is Writers helping Writers. The winning stories will be published on our website and in National Voices 2016 anthology to be published by December 2016.

Yessss!!!!

happy

So I know many of you are wanting to read the story and are wondering why it isn’t on my website. I will link to their website in December, but email me if you’d like to see it and I will send it your way. There are all these rules about online publication, and they now “own it” for a while. They will have it on their website for a year, and I will link to it, and then I will put it on mine. Yahoo! I get to read at the CA Christmas do, and have to send them a head shot and a bio, which I panicked at because I only ever take selfies of my face/awful hair in the morning and then send them to others to scare them, or make them feel better about themselves…so, I need to take a shot that is something other than that. I might wear my glasses. People take you seriously when you have glasses on. As in, “Maybe she’s not as dumb as I thought..?”

More blogging coming your way…I was busy writing.

Xo
